Joseph McMahon is a senior corporate resilience specialist with a robust military background, including serving as a British Infantry Captain and consulting for the UAE Armed Forces. After his military service he consulted for numerous corporations and government entities around the world with Control Risks, a leading corporate risk management specialist. Joseph has also held significant roles such as a Group Physical Security Manager at AXA Group and the Chief Operations Officer at SAME Solutions. Now an independent consultant, he has been based in Vilnius for the past five years and is a visiting professor at ISM university.

With over two decades of experience, Matt has honed his expertise through leadership roles at major consultancy firms such as KPMG, Atkins, and Control Risks. He has also held leadership positions with major banks including Head of Strategy, Operational Resilience at Nationwide, Head of Group BCM at Bank of Ireland, and Head of Resilience & Continuity at Norges Bank Investment Management (the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund).
Matt's professional skills encompass a broad spectrum, including strategy development to achieve enterprise resilience, operational risk management, training, and working with Boards to achieve clarity on risk appetite, strategic imperatives and to run exercises. He works alongside CROs and directors of risk and resilience to provide advice, develop strategy and operating models, conduct capability maturity assessments, as well as undertaking operational effectiveness reviews and audits.
